Honour Master Degree in Local Information Systems for Land Development (SILAT)
Training aims :
The SILAT Honour Master’s course allows thematic specialists (agronomists, forestry experts, hydrologists, environmentalists) to acquire high-level technical skills in the field of digital geographic information (geomatics).

Admission requirement :
The course is open to candidates holding 5-year higher education degrees (engineering, Master's or equivalent degrees). The course is also open to candidates with 4-year higher education degrees (French “Maîtrise”, for example) who have professional experience.
Registration conditions :
Admission is based on the application form and an interview.

Course Fees - Funding:
Tuition: 6,200 euros.
Registration fees are generally paid by the party requesting the internship.

Syllabus :
Organised jointly by AgroParisTechInstitut des sciences et industries du vivant et de l'environnement and Montpellier SupAgro: Revision and general principles: systems, programming, statistics (3 weeks). GIS theory and practice: databases, GPS, spatial analysis operators, networks and DTM, advanced analysis techniques, SIG programming. Graphic semiotics, cartography, geographic databases, etc. (10 weeks). Project/Micro-project (6 weeks). Teledetection and image processing (4 weeks): principles, physical bases, the different sensors, the statistical basis of classification, image processing, data analysis, thematic applications, teledetection/GIS integration.
Company Internship:
This internship lasts 6 months. It takes place in a host structure (local governments, consultancy firms, service companies, etc.) to participate in implementing a project. The aim is to show that course material has been assimilated and is mastered in real-life professional situations.
Teaching place :
Classes start in Montpellier in November. The course lasts 12 months.
The Master’s course takes place entirely in Montpellier (Montpellier SupAgro and Maison de la Télédétection).
