Institute of Higher Vine and Wine Studies

Director: Mr Hervé HANNIN
Today’s international markets are raising new challenges for vine and wine businesses: How should they position themselves, and with which products? Which wine growing techniques and what oenology practices should they use? How should they market themselves? What quality standards should they use? What prospects do AOC wines have? How much room is there for new products?
In the face of these questions, the Institut des Hautes Études de la Vigne et du Vin (IHEV) provides an internationally renowned training and transfer system strongly backed by research to serve the vine and wine sector.
By maintaining constant dialogue with businesses and professional organisations, the IHEV helps formalise social demand and provide suitable responses to it, based on strong synergy between training, research and transfer.
It creates training programmes for businesses and organisations in the sector to prepare executives of the highest quality for them.
It takes part in vine and wine programmes developed by the campus’s research units.
Finally, the IHEV is intensely active in transferring results to the industry:
- scientific and technical papers and expertise missions around the world,
- information and training days for professionals,
- industry-related events and publications.
