Agropolis campus : teaching and research facilities

The driving force of Montpellier‘s scientific complex is the synergy between teaching and research. From its original core Agro-M and INRA from 1985, Montpellier is becoming one of the scientific european leader in the field of agricultural sciences.

The  "Agropolis International" association brings now  20 higher education teaching (Montpellier SupAgro, AgroParisTech, Engref Montpellier, Universities Montpellier I, II, III, and Perpignan University) and research (INRA, CIRAD, IRD, CEMAGREF, CIHEAM/IAMM, CNRS, IFREMER) institutions.

Focusing their scientific work to Mediterranean and Tropical countries. It has internationally recognised expertise in different sciences related to: agriculture, livestock rearing, forestry, fish and aquatic farming, agri-food,  natural resources and biodiversity management.

The agronomy research and teaching expertise is organised over three sites: La Gaillarde campus, La Valette campus, and Baillarguet campus. In the key area of vegetal biology, for example, we find:
